indeed. was too busy, i guess. just got back from a field survey. i was in east borneo for couple of days for a research on the impact of oil and gas industry on the regional development. in particular, the environmental aspects. but hey, this is a fun blog, so forget about the nitty-gritty.
some real stuff for this blog include:
- east kalimantan is just ok. it's statistically the richest province in indonesia. but it doesn't seem so. corruption is pervasive, for your information.
- it felt good to be back on the seashore, breathing that familiar salty air and talking with fishermen. missed my childhood.
- internet sucks in balikpapan, the capital. no, probably just in the hotel i was staying. it's damn expensive. i got a better deal across the street. it was ten times cheaper. yes, cheaper if you don't internalize the cost of sitting among smokers!
- as exciting as it is, i failed to gather information on the impact of oil drilling on deep sea whales.
that's about my survey. now, as i am back to the real world again, i gather:
- bloglines wins. i'm happy. but google loses to yahoo. how come?
- wolfie is likely to be the next chief of the bank. what were they thinkin'?
- nias was hit by another earthquake. my deepest condolence to the victims.
- what else? ah, nieces and nephews are getting cuter. they kill me.
by the way, expect a migration to my
own domain soon!
